The Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre supports projects of varying complexity and size, offering services in Programme and Project Management, Project Planning, Cost Engineering, Risk Management, and Commercial Disciplines. We assist throughout the full project lifecycle, from pre-contract to post-contract, managing infrastructure projects valued from hundreds of thousands of pounds to over £200M.

Due to increasing client demands, we are expanding our team and seeking talented individuals to support our Defence client portfolio, develop their careers, and work on complex, challenging assignments.

Job Description

Important: Due to the sensitive nature of these projects, applicants must be SOLE UK citizens able to obtain and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Existing SC clearance is preferred but not mandatory; we encourage suitable candidates to apply.

We are seeking project controls professionals, with a focus on planning, to meet rising demand.

As a Senior Project Controls Engineer, you will provide project control services, including:

• Create and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements.
• Develop schedules with project managers and teams.
• Reduce uncertainty, clarify objectives, and improve efficiency.
• Assist in scheduling work and coordinating assignments.
• Evaluate schedule progress and identify issues.
• Support change management processes.
• Develop status reports to inform management.
• Analyze and propose recovery plans for delayed schedules.

Qualifications

You should have professional experience in Project Controls, particularly in Planning & Scheduling across various project lifecycle stages, with proficiency in Primavera P6 and other planning tools. You must be able to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Essential:

• A degree in a relevant technical or management field or equivalent experience.
• Membership in a professional body such as APM or PMI.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate and lead teams.
• Experience in stakeholder management.

Working in Teams/Site Attendance

We support hybrid working to balance work and home life. Typically, you will spend about 60% of your time on client sites or in offices, with flexibility depending on project needs. Collaboration and team cohesion are valued.

Security Clearance
