The Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre supports projects of varying complexity and size, offering services including Programme and Project Management, Project Planning, Cost Engineering, Risk Management, and Commercial Disciplines.

Job Description

We are seeking project controls professionals with a focus on planning. As a Senior Project Controls Engineer, your responsibilities may include:

• Create and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements.
• Develop schedules in collaboration with project managers and teams.
• Reduce uncertainty, clarify objectives, and improve efficiency.
• Assist project managers with scheduling work and coordinating tasks.
• Evaluate schedule progress and performance, identifying issues.
• Support change management processes and procedures.
• Help develop status reports to inform management of project progress.
• Conduct analysis to identify alternative actions or recovery plans for delayed schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or management field or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience in Project Controls, especially Planning & Scheduling across the project lifecycle.
• Proficiency with Primavera (P6) and other planning software.
• Understanding and application of earned value management techniques.
• Experience with NEC contracts is desirable.
• Membership in a professional body such as APM or PMI.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate and lead teams.
• Effective stakeholder management experience.

Working in Teams/Site Attendance

We support hybrid working to help balance work and home life. Typically, you will spend about 60% of your time on client sites or in our offices, subject to change based on project needs. Collaboration and team-building are essential.
