Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to lead cross-discipline teams on medium risk Defence and infrastructure programmes in the UK. You will define scope, establish baselines and manage change within an Integrated Project Team, ensuring robust governance and data-driven delivery.

You will coordinate with suppliers, finance and risk specialists to deliver accurate forecasts, control costs and schedule, and mentor junior staff on complex projects in regulated

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering projects in highly regulated sectors such as defence or infrastructure.
• Experience across multiple Project Controls disciplines (planning/scheduling, cost, risk, reporting).
• Ability to lead, coordinate and coach a cross-discipline team in complex projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management within Integrated Project Teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-discipline Project Controls teams on medium risk/complex projects or join larger teams on high risk programmes.
• Define scope with exclusions, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies for WBS establishment.
• Work with IPT to set up a robust Performance Measurement Baseline and manage change control.
• Collaborate with suppliers to analyse performance data per contractual requirements.
• Ensure scope, cost, risk and schedule integration and alignment.
• Analyse performance data, including Earned Value Management, to inform decisions.
• Liaise with Finance to generate C&CE and EAC profiles.
• Manage risk identification, quantification, treatment and governance.
• Support managers in resource deployment aligned with loaded schedules.
• Establish governance processes for auditable decision making.
• Assure quality, accuracy and integrity of outputs from the Project Controls team.
• Build relationships to enable delivery recovery and communicate performance to stakeholders.
• Promote learning from experience and drive process improvements.
• Mentor and coach team members for capability growth.
