Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Europe (HBUEU) seeks a Senior Project Controller to provide cross-functional financial governance and insights across project lifecycles. You will partner with Project Management to support decision-making and enhance project performance, with remote work available anywhere in the UK and some travel to Birmingham offices.

Applicants should have a Finance-related degree, strong Excel and SAP experience, and a track record in project or tender controlling within international

• Strong Excel capability; SAP or similar ERP experience is an advantage.

• Provide financial support across the full project lifecycle (tender → execution → warranty).
• Partner with Project Managers on commercial and financial matters; translate data into insights.
• Support profitability and cash performance by identifying risks and opportunities early.
• Coordinate monthly project reviews and forecasts for reliable financial insight.
• Support invoicing, cash collection, currency exposure tracking and tax alignment.

You will work closely with Project Management and cross-functional teams to provide clear financial insight, support decision-making, and strengthen project performance

Location, (Remote) anywhere in UK with some travel to Birmingham Offices

How you'll make an impact:

Provide financial support across the full project lifecycle (tender → execution → warranty), ensuring transparency and control.

Partner with Project Managers on commercial and financial matters, translating data into clear insights and supporting decisions.

Support profitability and cash performance by identifying risks and opportunities early and contributing to mitigation actions.

Coordinate and prepare monthly project reviews and forecasts, ensuring reliable financial insight and consistency.

Support financial processes including invoicing, cash collection, currency exposure tracking, bonds & guarantees, and tax alignment with relevant functions

Your Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar.

Strong Excel capability; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.

Experience in project or tender controlling in a project-based environment is beneficial.

A structured approach with the ability to move from data to insight to action.

Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in an international environment.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
