Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a Senior Project Controller to shape financial governance across our grid and power quality projects in Europe. You will partner with Project Managers to drive forecast accuracy, manage cash discipline, and deliver clear financial insights across tender, execution and warranty stages.

The role requires a finance degree, strong Excel and ERP experience (SAP preferred), and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar.
• Strong Excel capability and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Experience in project or tender controlling in a project-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial support across the full project lifecycle (tender → execution → warranty).

Location and Travel

Location, (Remote) anywhere in UK with some travel to Birmingham Offices (Please note we are unable to provide visa support for this position).

How You'll Make an Impact

Provide financial support across the full project lifecycle (tender → execution → warranty), ensuring transparency and control. Partner with Project Managers on commercial and financial matters, translating data into clear insights and supporting decisions. Support profitability and cash performance by identifying risks and opportunities early and contributing to mitigation actions. Coordinate and prepare monthly project reviews and forecasts, ensuring reliable financial insight and consistency. Support financial processes including invoicing, cash collection, currency exposure tracking, bonds & guarantees, and tax alignment with relevant functions.

Your Background

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar. Strong Excel capability; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage. Experience in project or tender controlling in a project-based environment is beneficial. A structured approach with the ability to move from data to insight to action. Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in an international environment. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
