Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Construction & Commissioning Manager to lead the Construction & Commissioning scope across major energy infrastructure projects, including offshore wind grid connections and HVDC systems. You will coordinate activities from handover to close‑out, ensuring safety, schedule and budget targets are met.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, ability to influence across project teams and clients, and a pragmatic, solution‑focused mindset to drive project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering Construction and/or Commissioning activities within major infrastructure, energy, utilities, industrial or engineering projects.
• Experience with High Voltage (HV), HVDC, substations, offshore wind, transmission & distribution, or power generation projects highly advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence across project teams, clients and contractors.
• Commercial awareness including exposure to budgets, forecasting, change management, variations, claims or cost discussions.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, influencing and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive problem solver able to take ownership and implement practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Construction & Commissioning activities across the project lifecycle.
• Organise and lead kick‑off meetings for Construction & Commissioning teams.
• Drive handover from Tendering and Engineering into Construction & Commissioning with clear ownership of scope, schedule and budget.
• Define responsibilities, resources and delivery strategies to support project execution.
• Lead constructability reviews during mobilisation and execution.
• Collaborate with Project Directors, Site Managers and functional teams to drive performance.
• Support site mobilisation and startup activities with robust execution plans.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, permits, certifications and HSE requirements.
• Monitor progress, budgets and forecasts; implement recovery plans as needed.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
