Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to provide commissioning expertise across a portfolio of transmission, distribution, substation, and renewable energy projects throughout the UK. This is a predominantly remote role, with travel typically less than 15%, offering a rare opportunity to remain at the forefront of major infrastructure projects without being permanently site-based.
Working closely with Project Managers and commissioning teams, you will act as the commissioning subject matter expert, supporting projects from tender stage through to energisation and handover. You'll play a key role in shaping commissioning strategies, developing documentation, supporting project planning activities, and ensuring successful project delivery across multiple projects simultaneously.
Location: UK (Remote with occasional travel to project sites and Hitachi Energy offices as required)
Proven commissioning experience within electrical infrastructure, substations, utilities, renewable energy, or power transmission and distribution projects.
Strong understanding of commissioning processes, testing methodologies, project delivery, and energisation activities.
Experience developing, reviewing, or approving commissioning documentation and test procedures.
Knowledge of commissioning planning, resource allocation, sequencing, and project scheduling.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple projects.
