Job title:Senior Project Accountant

Salary:£50,000-£60,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

• Provision of experienced financial support to Project Accounting by building and maintaining effective relationships and ensuring robust financial challenge and control
• Provision of accurate financial information and advice to a project or group of projects on a timely basis to enable effective decision-making
• Provision of financial support and advice to customers and stakeholders
• Supervise, maintain and operate financial systems and processes in a constantly changing environment
• Resolve problems to ensure development/production timescales are met across projects
• Provide helpline to internal and external customers
• Provide cover for day-to-day aspects of manager's role
• Facilitate decision-making using knowledge and experience
• Effective liaison with other functions involved in the projects
• Continual improvement of procedures and working practices
• Assume responsibility for key areas of processes
• Provide advice to customers and stakeholders
• Effectively police project control environment
• Input and approve journal vouchers
• Coaching non-finance employees on related matters

Your skills and experiences:

• Project Accounting experience - fully qualified
• Knowledge of MoD Accounting/Contracting requirements
• Detailed knowledge of Project Lifecycle Management (LCM) Process
• Business Systems experience (SAP/Budget, Planning & Consolidation)
• Finance governance requirements including financial control framework

A Senior Accountant is a key member of this team, responsible for providing expert financial input and project accounting support to enhance the performance and delivery of finance operations
