Salary:

£50,000-£60,000 (dependent on skills and experience).

What you’ll be doing:

• Provision of experienced financial support to Project Accounting by building and maintaining effective relationships and ensuring robust financial challenge and control.
• Provision of accurate financial information and advice to a project or group of projects on a timely basis to enable effective decision-making.
• Provision of financial support and advice to customers and stakeholders.
• Supervise, maintain, and operate financial systems and processes in a constantly changing environment.
• Resolve problems to ensure development/production timescales are met across projects.
• Provide helpline to internal and external customers.
• Provide cover for day-to-day aspects of the manager’s role.
• Facilitate decision-making using knowledge and experience.
• Maintain effective liaison with other functions involved in the projects.
• Continuously improve procedures and working practices.
• Assume responsibility for key areas of processes.
• Provide advice to customers and stakeholders.
• Effectively police the project control environment.
• Input and approve journal vouchers.
• Coach non-finance employees on related matters.

Your skills and experiences:

• Project Accounting experience – fully qualified.
• Knowledge of MoD Accounting/Contracting requirements.
• Detailed knowledge of Project Lifecycle Management (LCM) Process.
• Business Systems experience (SAP/Budget, Planning & Consolidation).
• Understanding of finance governance requirements, including financial control framework.

The Project Finance team:

The Project Finance Team plays a critical role in delivering high-quality financial oversight and support to the broader programme. The team ensures strong financial governance by implementing effective processes, conducting detailed data analysis, and maintaining clear communication across departments. A Senior Accountant is a key member, responsible for providing expert financial input and project accounting support to enhance finance operations.
