Job summary

The City of Doncaster Council is seeking a Senior Programme and Project Manager - Transformation to lead system-wide SEND reform across education, health and care. Based at the Civic Office, Doncaster, you will drive complex programmes with measurable improvements for children, young people and families.

The post offers Grade 10 salary (£49,817 - £54,143), 37 hours per week, a temporary fixed-term contract to 31 March 2029, and a hybrid working pattern in Doncaster. Closing date 11 October 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of strategic SEND reform and transformation programmes.
  • Manage programme planning, governance, reporting and risks.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health, social care, parent carer forums and wider partners.
  • Provide high-quality programme management advice and support.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with our local and national priorities.
  • Lead and support programme staff, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Drive sustainable change that improves inclusion, service quality and outcomes for children and young people.

Doncaster is delivering an ambitious SEND Transformation Programme focused on inclusion, early intervention, sufficiency, preparation for adulthood and stronger partnership and co-production working across education, health and care.

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complexprojects that support this agenda, ensuring theprogramme is delivered efficiently to achieve measurable improvements for children, young people and families.
