Job summary

At Anaplan, Senior Program Managers oversee complex, cross-functional technology programs, driving planning, execution, and delivery while coaching other team members.

You will provide strategic consultation to leadership, define program structures, and mentor managers to foster excellence within the program management function. You will lead kickoff meetings, establish ceremonies, and coordinate with engineers, product owners, and architects to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing programs in a software product development environment.
• Ability to influence and advise senior leadership and translate complex program details into an executive narrative.
• Experience mentoring and coaching team members; developing talent within the organization.
• Strong leadership, team management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in status and dependency tracking in Jira & Confluence.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, drive alignment, and resolve conflicts.
• Experience with risk management, release planning and program documentation.
• Knowledge of SAFe and other program/portfolio methodologies and selecting the right approach for a program.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic consultation to leadership on program structure and engagement strategies.
• Mentor and develop program managers to foster excellence and continuous improvement.
• Lead program kickoff meetings, define roles, and establish ceremonies for initiatives.
• Develop and maintain advanced roadmap plans with status and dependency tracking.
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads, Product Owners, architects and stakeholders.
• Facilitate scoping exercises and commitment/objective tracking.
• Oversee quarterly and release planning activities.
• Manage program documentation, meeting notes, decisions and action items.
• Drive metrics and reporting to align with program and business outcomes.
• Track progress toward milestones and identify headwinds early.
• Ensure clear project visibility for senior management and key stakeholders.
• Conduct regular leadership and executive status meetings.
• Ensure completion of closing activities and retrospectives.
• Promote Agile practices and continuous improvement.
