Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Program Manager to drive the delivery of next-generation surgical technology within Digital Technologies R&D. You will lead global cross-functional teams across engineering, design and product ownership to coordinate development and lifecycle management of medical devices.

The role requires strong end-to-end project management across hardware and embedded software, plus experience with regulated systems.

Qualifications

  • Strong end to end project management experience within hardware and embedded software development.
  • Comfortable with sequential/waterfall, Scrum, Agile, and other PM methodologies.
  • 10+ years of leading diverse, cross-functional projects and programs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with highly regulated and/or safety-critical systems (medical devices preferred).
  • Engineering degree or related technical field.
  • PM qualification/certification (PMP, Prince2, SAFe).

Responsibilities

  • Lead global cross-functional development teams to design, implement and commercialize digital, electro-mechanical and robotic medical devices.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and manage risks within development teams and across portfolios.
  • Guide cross-functional teams on new product development and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee operational aspects and liaise between functional and business management.
  • Manage development and implementation processes involving cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor project progress from initiation to delivery and mitigate risks.

We are looking for an experienced Program Manager with a strong delivery-focused mindset who is well versed in managing multiple complex projects at any one time.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Leading global cross-functional and cross-business unit development teams to design, implement and commercialize Digital, Electro-mechanical and Robotic Medical DevicesPlanning, coordinating, monitoring and managing the risks within a development team and cross-portfolio to achieve business objectives.Leading cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes, and therapies.Overseeing the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between functional and business management.Managing the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products.Monitoring the project from initiation through delivery.Identifying and assessing project risks and issues and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.Developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with functional managers and business partners.Supporting requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project’s key stakeholders.Reporting to executive business leaders on the status, progress and risk mitigation strategiesRequired Knowledge and Experience:Strong end to end project management experience within Hardware and Embedded Software DevelopmentComfortable with a range of project management methodologies (sequential/waterfall, Scrum, Agile, etc.)10 years+ experience leading diverse and complex projects and programs that cross functions and business unitsStrong written and oral communication skillsExperience with highly regulated and/or safety-critical systems is essential (medical device experience strongly preferred)Degree in any Engineering or related technical fieldRecognized Project Management related qualification/ certification (PMP, Prince2, SaFE).Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.Recruitment Fraud AlertWe are aware of phishing scams targeting job seekers.
