Job summary

IRIS Software Group in the UK is seeking a Senior Professional Services Consultant to join our North American Professional Services organisation and help customers maximise value from IRIS Accountancy Solutions.

You will lead complex, client-facing engagements, translate accounting and practice requirements into practical cloud-based implementations, and guide customers through adoption while balancing scope, budgets and timelines. Regular travel domestically and internationally is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience implementing cloud-based business software in a professional services or similar client-facing environment.
• Strong knowledge of accountancy practices and practice management processes, including reporting.
• Experience with SQL Server/ T-SQL and data reporting tools such as SSRS or Power BI.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Professional Services Consultant to join our North American Professional Services organisation and help customers get maximum value from IRIS Accountancy Solutions.

This is a senior, highly client-facing consulting role for someone who understands both accountancy practice operations and technology.

You’ll partner with customers operating in complex environments, helping them modernise processes, improve efficiency and make better use of their IRIS solutions. From understanding business challenges and designing practical solutions to supporting successful adoption, you’ll act as a trusted partner throughout the customer journey.

You’ll also bring a commercial mindset, balancing customer objectives with project scope, budget and delivery commitments.

Regular domestic and international travel to customer locations is required.

About the Team You’ll Join

You’ll be part of our North American Professional Services organisation, collaborating closely with colleagues across Professional Services, Product, Support, Sales and Customer Success.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll share your expertise and best practice, help develop less experienced consultants and contribute to improving our delivery methodologies, documentation and ways of working.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead customer discovery sessions and workshops, translating complex business requirements into practical solutions using IRIS Accountancy Solutions.

• Review customer processes and system usage to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, adoption and standardisation.

• Design and deliver solutions for complex implementation and consultancy requirements.

• Guide customers through changes to their systems and processes, helping them successfully adopt new ways of working.

• Own complex delivery challenges and collaborate with internal teams to keep projects moving.

• Manage delivery against agreed scope and remain aware of budgets, milestones and customer commitments.

• Identify scope changes and additional Professional Services opportunities, escalating appropriately.

• Bring product and consultancy expertise into pre-sales discussions and demonstrations where required.

• Promote standard functionality and best practice while minimising unnecessary customisation.

• Mentor consultants and new starters through coaching, practical guidance and knowledge sharing.

• Contribute to customer enablement, eLearning, best-practice guidance and issue-resolution documentation.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience implementing cloud-based business software in Professional Services, consultancy or a similar customer-facing environment.

• Strong knowledge of accountancy practices and practice management processes, including operational and management reporting.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft T-SQL, including queries and stored procedures.

• Experience implementing practice management or comparable business software, including complex customer requirements.

• Strong requirements-gathering, process analysis, solution design and documentation skills.

• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills, with fluent written and spoken English.

• Experience running customer workshops, consultancy sessions and solution discussions.

• The ability to manage multiple customer priorities while delivering to agreed scope, deadlines and quality standards.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft T-SQL, including queries and stored procedures.

• A good understanding of APIs, integrations, cloud technology and relational databases.

• Degree-level education or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Experience within an accounting/CPA firm, or an accounting qualification, would be particularly valuable, alongside exposure to Practice Management systems. Experience with SSRS, Power BI or comparable reporting tools, and with workflow, scheduling or resource-management processes, would also be advantageous.
