Job summary

Huntsman Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Production Technician for a permanent role based in Halifax. The position involves manufacturing high-quality products, including wind tunnels, fluids components, control units and assemblies, with duties spanning testing and calibration.

The role requires GCSE Maths and English, plus a BTEC in engineering or equivalent. Strong soldering, wiring, hand-tool use and team collaboration are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture products to a high quality standard including wind tunnels and fluid components.
• Involve testing, programming and calibration of products.
• Assist in handovers to production and R&D teams.
• Train and inspire other team members on new products after handovers.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Production Technician for a prestigious client based in Halifax, HX1.

This is a permanent role, and an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, expanding company.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• The manufacture of company products to a high level of quality, which include:
• Wind tunnels
• Fluids components and complete fluids units
• Process control units
• Structures units
• MicroCNC kits
• Robot ARMS
• Electrical machines (control boxes, mechanical modules, motors)
• Any new future product ranges that are deemed to be at this level
• Industrial Maintenance modules
• Any relevant testing, programming and calibration of the products produced
• Take part in product handovers to the production team, working with the R&D team
• Training of other team members on new products after handovers are completed
• To assist in others areas as and when required

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Qualifications:

• GCSE Mathematics
• GCSE English
• BTEC in engineering or similar

Computer packages:

• Word – Low level
• Excel – medium level
• E-mail / Internet use – medium level

Skills and experience:

• High level of Soldering skills
• Abilty to strip and crimp wires
• High level of understanding and reading of assembly drawings
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and wire up circuits
• Use of various hand tools including pillar drums, bandsaws, hand drills etc
• Ability to follow test instructions for calibrating and programming products
• Good IT skills for testing, programming and calibration of products
• Display good team work ethics
• The ability to train and inspire others

Hours:

• Monday to Thursday 7am to 3.30pm
• Fridays 7am to 12.30pm
• Total 37.50 hours per week
