Job summary

IMI plc is seeking an experienced Planning Manager in Poole, UK to lead the production planning and master scheduling function. You will oversee SIOP forecasting, align with Sales, Contracts and Operations, and drive on-time, in-full deliveries while optimising WIP and stock levels.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive ERP/MRP experience (EFACS/Opcenter), and the ability to translate data into actionable plans.

Qualifications

• An extensive production planning and master scheduling background within an engineering manufacturing environment.
• Track record of leading a production and planning team with experience of use and implementation of MRP tools and systems.
• Highly analytical with strong statistical and numerical skills and excellent communication and people skills.
• Numerate and IT literate with good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft packages to compile and analyze performance statistics and deliver reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for production planning, master scheduling and lead SIOP forecasting.
• Review current scheduling methods and map a strategy to meet future requirements and set planning policies.
• Improve processes to keep production schedules data accurate, maintained and easily updated.
• Ensure ERP/MRP data, lead times, routings and delivery dates are accurate to support dependable schedules.
• Monitor progress and feed into production plans; develop metrics for lead time, schedule performance and capacity.
• Attend management meetings.
• Own stock management and drive inventory optimisation with Purchasing and Operations.
• Provide concise information to resolve schedule issues with project managers and others.
• Prepare accurate management reports.
• Perform performance reviews of team members.
• Use and maintain ERP/MRP and scheduling systems (EFACS, Opcenter, Power BI, Excel).
• Ensure COSHH risk assessments are up to date and communicated.
• Ensure training needs are identified and addressed.
• Perform other duties as required.
