Job summary

IMI plc in Poole, UK, seeks a Project Planner to manage contracts from receipt to delivery. You will produce and update project plans, monitor costs and margins, and act as the customer interface with regular status reports. The role requires strong planning, cost control, ERP experience and clear communication with stakeholders.

Travel nationally/internationally as needed. A degree in a related discipline and experience in project management are preferred; LEAN knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC/bachelor's degree level (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
• Some experience in Project Management; Process Improvement; Technical Understanding; Documentation Skills.
• Experience evaluating estimates, proposals, bids or tenders.
• Excellent communication with engagement, influencing and presentation skills.
• Commercial acumen overseeing production proposals and client relationships.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Proficient in IT including Microsoft packages and ERP system.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Willing to travel nationally and internationally (if required).

Responsibilities

• Review order documentation to ensure costs, margins and schedules can be adhered to.
• Record and provide feedback to area leader on lessons learned.
• Act as the customer interface for the duration of a project with regular status reports.
• Manage and aid resolution of technical enquiries with engineering support.
• Produce project plans, regularly updated and issued to the team.
• Hold regular project meetings and maintain actions with escalation where needed.
• Monitor project margins and develop mitigation plans with functional leaders.
• Use ERP to maintain project status and costs and support production planning.
• Communicate delivery status with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Report weekly on project status to area leader.
