Job summary

XYZ Reality, based in Reading, is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to lead production at the Reading facility. You will combine hands-on robotics and electrical engineering with day-to-day leadership of the assembly, test and calibration team, owning how AR devices are built, tested and calibrated.

This role drives scale-up from prototype to volume production, delivering on the build plan and implementing automation opportunities while maintaining ISO 9001 quality gates.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in electrical, electronic, mechatronic or manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on robotics/electrical engineering experience on complex products.
• Experience leading a small technical team and developing people.
• Experience taking a product from prototype into repeatable production.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assembly, test and calibration team day to day, allocating work and mentoring staff.
• Own robot calibration and production test systems, acceptance criteria and calibration control.
• Define build cycle times and drive process design improvements for efficiency.
• Lead transition from prototype build to volume production, including automation opportunities.
• Perform root-cause analysis on returns and field failures, driving corrective actions.
• Create and control build documentation and support engineering changes on production.
