Job summary

Ryft is a high-growth fintech start-up in Manchester seeking a Senior Product Manager to shape the next generation of our payments platform. You will bridge Executive/Sales and Software Engineering, translating business vision into an actionable product roadmap and clear user stories for delivery.

This hybrid role is based in central Manchester with 2 days in the office each week. You will own strategic roadmap, align stakeholders, and track KPIs to measure impact on merchants and marketplaces

Qualifications

• Fintech/Payments background with B2B or fintech product experience.
• Ability to translate business needs into dev-ready requirements.
• Data-driven prioritisation to protect platform integrity.
• Ability to discuss system architecture with engineers.
• Experience in fast-growth startups using Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

About the Job

Are you a strategic thinker who loves the intersection of business, technology, and finance? We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join Ryft, a high-growth fintech start-up, to help define and drive the next generation of our payments platform.

In this pivotal role, you will act as the bridge between our Executive/Sales teams and our Software Engineering teams. You will be responsible for translating high-level business vision and commercial requirements into a concrete, executable product roadmap. You won't just be managing features; you'll be shaping the future of how marketplaces and merchants handle payments globally.

This is a hybrid role based in central Manchester, with 2 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Work directly with the Exec and Sales teams to identify market opportunities and define the features that keep the Ryft Payments Platform at the cutting edge.
• Bridge Sales & Engineering: Translate complex commercial needs and customer feedback into clear, actionable technical requirements and user stories for our engineering squads.
• End-to-End Delivery: Collaborate closely with Software Engineering to ensure features are built to a high standard and delivered on time for Ryft customers.
• Stakeholder Management: Balance competing priorities between sales-led requests and long‑term platform scalability, keeping all parties aligned and informed.
• Market & Regulatory Insight: Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes (like PSD3) to ensure Ryft remains compliant and competitive.
• Product Success: Define and track key performance metrics to measure the impact of new features and inform future iterations.

Experience & Skills Required

• Fintech/Payments Background: Proven experience managing B2B or Fintech products, ideally with a deep understanding of the payment value chain (Gateways, Acquirers, etc.).
• Strategic Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate with both executive leadership and technical teams, translating "business-speak" into "dev-speak" and vice-versa.
• Prioritisation Excellence: A data-driven approach to prioritisation, with the ability to say "no" or "not now" to protect the platform's integrity.
• Technical Literacy: While you don't need to write code, you should be comfortable discussing system architecture and technical constraints with senior engineers.
• Agile Leadership: Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑growth startup environments using Agile methodologies to deliver complex products.

Nice to Have

• Marketplace Experience: Familiarity with automated merchant onboarding and marketplace settlement flows.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Experience navigating financial compliance and regulatory landscapes.
