Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Senior Product Manager to own strategy and roadmap for editorial decision support post-peer-review. You will collaborate with editors, data scientists, and engineering to improve decision accuracy, relevance, and trust within a global submissions workflow.

You will drive evidence-based decisions, define success metrics, and ensure responsible AI use while aligning with Publishing and Technology stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Significant product management experience including ownership of strategy and delivery.
• Experience with AI and machine learning products, including generative AI and RAG.
• Strong analytical skills using data, experimentation and research.
• Experience leading initiatives within cross-functional teams and delivering outcomes.
• Familiarity with scholarly publishing, editorial workflows or research integrity is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for editorial decision-support.
• Lead delivery within a cross-functional agile team and manage backlog.
• Partner with editors to understand decision challenges and translate insights.
• Champion evidence-based decision-making through qualitative and quantitative research.
• Collaborate with data science to evaluate AI-driven capabilities and prioritize enhancements.
• Define KPIs and OKRs, and assess build, buy, or partner options.
• Balance product, technical, and architectural considerations with engineering teams.
• Ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible use of AI with human oversight.
• Align stakeholders across Publishing, Technology, Operations, Editorial Strategy, and Research Integrity.
• Support go-to-market activities, product launches, and user adoption.
