Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the strategy for editorial decision support at the post-peer‑review stage. You will lead a cross‑functional squad of engineers, UX, data scientists and editors to advance AI-enabled decision tools while balancing transparency and governance.

You will collaborate with Publishing, Technology, Operations and Research Integrity to drive data-driven improvements and measurable outcomes for researchers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Significant product management experience with strategy, roadmap and delivery.
• Strong product judgment and ability to define complex problems.
• Experience with AI/ML products including generative AI or RAG.
• Strong analytical skills using data, experimentation and research.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for editorial decision-support post‑peer‑review.
• Lead delivery within a cross‑functional agile team with a healthy backlog.
• Partner with editors to understand challenges and translate findings into improvements.
• Champion evidence-based decision‑making with research and analytics.
• Collaborate with data science to evaluate AI-driven capabilities and enhancements.
• Define KPIs/OKRs and assess build, buy, or partner options.
• Balance product and technical considerations with engineering teams.
• Ensure transparency, accountability and responsible AI use with oversight.
