Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I - Cash Management in London to design, build and scale high-availability services powering international payments. You will join the Wise for Banks team, collaborating with Implementation, Solutions Engineering and Business Development to integrate with global partners.

You’ll work with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and PostgreSQL to craft robust microservices, mentor juniors, and drive best practices across a platform handling liquidity and FX risk at

Qualifications

Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend services.
Strong microservices and event-driven design experience.
Hands-on with Kafka or similar messaging systems.
Relational DB knowledge with PostgreSQL and schema design.
DDD knowledge is a plus and customer-focused approach.
Product mindset and data-driven decision making.
Excellent problem-solving and communication in a team.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot services.
Apply domain-driven design to build robust solutions.
Lead event-driven architecture using Kafka or similar systems.
Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance.
Collaborate with teams to expand Wise platform globally.
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
