Job summary

DRYFT World Ltd. is seeking a skilled Product Design Engineer to join our in-house design team in Sheffield.

You will lead concept development, prototyping, and CAD modelling for our DRYFT product line, pushing towards rapid, high-volume production. Ideal candidates will have around 5 years of experience in product development, extensive SolidWorks proficiency, and a strong background in ergonomics and motorized/electronic assemblies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Product Design, Design Engineering, or related discipline.
• Around 5 years of product development experience taking concepts to high-volume production.
• Extensive SolidWorks experience including part/assembly configurations, evaluation, and top-down modelling.
• Proven ability in mechanical problem-solving, ergonomics, and designing internal architecture for motorized/electronic components.
• Advanced modelling with SolidWorks surfacing and Sub-D Modelling.

Responsibilities

• Concept & Prototyping: Develop new DRYFT product concepts using mock-ups, 3D printing, and sketching.
• Advanced CAD Modelling: Use SolidWorks for parametric top-down modelling and large assemblies.
• Design for Manufacture (DFM): Create robust parts for injection moulding, die casting, and high-volume production.
• Production & Refinement: Work with manufacturing teams on tooling, sample inspections, and GD&T to drawings.
• Continuous Innovation: Re-engineer existing product lines for performance and appeal.
• Design for ergonomics: Consider user interaction via touchpoints, clips, catches, grips, and controls.
• Design for reliability: Ensure parts and assemblies last.
• Integration of technology: Design parts to seamlessly integrate motors, electronics and mechanisms.
