Role: Senior Procurement Officer
Location: Chesterfield
Duration: Up to 6 months
My client is looking for an interim senior procurement professional to deliver procurement support, to senior leaders to enable cost effective, compliance contracts that deliver savings to the business.
This role will be based in Chesterfield, and it is expected that 3 days per week will be spent in the office, with the remainder working remotely if required when the initial induction period has concluded.
The successful applicant must:
* Hold a full MCIPS qualification or have a degree in Procurement and Supply Chain.
* Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a public sector procurement environment, preferable local government.
* Have an operational understanding public procurement legislation.
* Have experience in using Frameworks.
* Has the ability to communicate well at all levels.
* Can work autonomously in a busy environment.
* Has experience in analysing procurement data.
* Has the ability to identify procurement and supply chain risks.
* Be an excellent team player.
* Has excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
Sourcing the following categories of expenditure would be highly advantageous.
ICT/Facilities Maintenance / Professional Services / Construction and Minor Works.
This role is operational and will involve, advising budget managers and senior leaders on the most appropriate sourcing strategy, supporting market engagement, drafting tender documents, reviewing specification documents, managing the end-to-end tender process, conducting evaluation and mediation meetings, drafting contract documents, writing reports and communicating with suppliers.
Ensuring that all tender activity is compliant to national procurement legislation.
