Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to join the corporate team, delivering a cost-effective procurement service within the rules of public procurement law and using the Chest e-tendering system. The role requires an understanding of Public Sector Procurement and strong communication, networking and influencing skills.

You will plan, prepare and complete tender documents, write contract reports, and build relationships with internal and external customers.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join the corporate team in providing a comprehensive cost-effective procurement service within the rules of the public procurement law and practice within the parameters of the Councils corporate strategies. An understanding of Public Sector Procurement and the use of an e‑tendering system e.g. The Chest is essential

About You

With a demonstrable understanding of the Public Procurement rules and excellent all-round communication skills, you’ll plan prepare and complete the tender documents and write contract reports. You’ll also need well‑developed networking and influencing skills to build relationships with internal and external customers
