Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects at Nidec Drives.

You will be responsible for the efficient delivery of procurement projects and NPD programs, managing key projects, collaborating across the business, and ensuring procurement requirements are met through effective project management, communication, and reporting.

From project inception to delivery, you and your team will lead the process, demonstrating performance in commercial and project timelines during bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director.

You will play a key role in aligning and shaping our procurement function, supporting strategic sourcing decisions, and contributing to the company's overall strategic direction.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Contribute to strategic business and financial objectives through responsibilities including:

• Aligning with Global Procurement Category Managers on strategy and goals.
• Ensuring cross-functional alignment and reporting on project progress.
• Collaborating globally with regions and functions to optimize performance.
• Leading and participating in project management meetings and reviews.

Tactical Execution:

• Developing and managing procurement NPD and project plans, reporting progress.
• Leading reviews internally and with the wider business.
• Supporting NPD plans to meet tight timelines.
• Working with regions to ensure implementation and alignment with targets.
• Maintaining KPIs to measure project execution.

Team Structure and People Management:

• Providing leadership for the procurement NPD team.
• Advocating for procurement NPD and projects, becoming a key internal resource.
• Monitoring and reviewing performance of plans.
• Communicating effectively across all levels of the business.
• Managing regular reviews with teams and stakeholders.

Relationship Management:

• Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborating with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.
• Facilitating delivery and performance of project goals.

Travel Requirements:

• Potential travel to Nidec locations and suppliers.
• International travel, including long-haul trips, may be required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CIPS, Business Degree, or Project Management qualification.
• Proven experience in projects or procurement, ideally in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with electronics and mechanical raw parts (preferred).
• Project management experience in complex, cost-effective environments.
• Structured, proactive, and logical mindset.
