Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects.

As part of the global Nidec Procurement team, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of procurement for projects and new product introductions (NPD). This includes project managing key programs, working across the business, and delivering procurement requirements through effective project management, communication, and reporting.

As Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects, you and your team will lead projects from inception to delivery. You will demonstrate performance in both commercial and project timelines during bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director.

As a key leader within the Procurement and Supply Chain team, you will help shape the procurement strategy, ensuring sourcing decisions align with the company's overall direction and strategy.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Success in this role will contribute to strategic business and financial objectives. Responsibilities include:

• Work with Global Procurement Category Managers to align strategies and goals.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment and include these in project reporting.
• Collaborate globally with regions and functions to optimize performance and align with project plans.
• Lead project management meetings and reviews.

Tactical Execution

• Develop and manage procurement plans for NPD and projects, reporting progress and deliverables.
• Lead reviews of procurement NPD and projects internally and with the wider business.
• Support NPD plans to meet tight deadlines.
• Work with regional teams to implement NPD plans, ensuring alignment with targets.
• Maintain KPIs to measure project execution performance.

Team Structure and People Management

• Provide leadership for the procurement NPD team.
• Advocate for procurement NPD and projects approach within the company.
• Monitor and review team performance.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
• Hold regular reviews with procurement teams, other functions, and regions.

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.
• Facilitate delivery and performance of project deliverables.

Travel Requirements:

• Travel to Nidec locations and suppliers, including international trips.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CIPS, Business Degree, or Project Management qualification.
• Experience in projects or procurement within a production environment.
• Knowledge of electronics and mechanical raw parts (preferred).
• Project management experience in a cost-effective environment.
• Structured, proactive mindset.
