Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects.

As part of the global Nidec Procurement team, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of procurements overall projects and New Product Introduction (NPD) programs. This includes project managing key programs, working across the business, and delivering procurement requirements through effective project management, communication, and reporting.

From project inception to delivery, you will lead the process, demonstrating performance in both commercial and project timelines during bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director.

You will play a major role in aligning and shaping our procurement strategy, ensuring sourcing decisions support our overall business direction.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Contributing to strategic business and financial objectives, main responsibilities include:

• Working with Global Procurement Category Managers to align strategies and goals.
• Ensuring cross-functional requirements are integrated into project reporting.
• Collaborating globally with regions and functions to optimize performance.
• Leading and participating in project management meetings and reviews.

Tactical Execution

• Developing and managing procurement NPD and project plans, reporting on progress.
• Leading reviews internally and with the wider business.
• Supporting NPD plans to meet tight deadlines.
• Working with regions to implement NPD plans aligned with targets.
• Maintaining KPIs to measure project execution.

Team Structure and People Management

• Providing leadership for the procurement NPD team.
• Advocating for our procurement approach and becoming a key resource for the business.
• Monitoring and reviewing team performance.
• Communicating effectively across all levels of the business.
• Managing regular reviews with procurement teams and other functions.

Relationship Management

• Building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure performance.
• Collaborating with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.
• Facilitating delivery and performance with key stakeholders.

Travel Requirements:

• Potential travel to Nidec locations and suppliers, including international trips.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CIPS, Business degree, or project management qualification.
• Experience in projects or procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with electronics and mechanical parts (preferred).
• Experience in complex, cost-effective project environments.
• Structured, proactive mindset.
