Overview
The role is responsible for driving improvements in functional performance through the identification, definition, and implementation of key information, data, and metrics that enable Buyers to be more effective. The role uses external insights to identify best practices and develops enablers such as cost models, dashboards, volatility analysis, coverage analysis, and market research information. These tools enhance procurement operations, promote supplier excellence, and ensure alignment with organizational goals for efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to embed these enablers across the procurement function.
Responsibilities
BRINGS THE OUTSIDE IN
- Uses external research to identify procurement best practices and emerging trends, translating these into key information, data, and metrics to improve effectiveness.
- Engages with external suppliers and industry experts to incorporate market intelligence into data and analytics requirements.
- Partners with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and supply chain, to align procurement analytics with broader business goals.
DRIVES UNDERSTANDING THROUGH DATA ANALYTICS
- Creates strategies for data and analytics, building capability within the procurement team.
- Leverages advanced analytics to enhance visibility into procurement spend, supplier performance, and market trends, identifying key data and metrics.
- Develops models, dashboards, reports, and tools to provide insights into procurement performance and opportunities for improvement, such as cost models and risk dashboards.
- Works with the Senior Performance Manager to ensure analytics tools and practices are included in the Procurement Academy.
- Supports key decision-making with data-backed recommendations.
DRIVES SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE THROUGH DATA AND ANALYSIS
- Identifies metrics to assess supplier performance, including environmental, ethical, and sustainability aspects, and aligns these with leadership and category teams.
- Creates and maintains tools to track supplier performance and reporting mechanisms.
- Ensures data on supplier diversity, sustainability, and risk management are integrated into procurement practices.
- Generates actionable insights and presents them through dashboards and reports.
SUPPORTS COMMODITY RISK MANAGEMENT THROUGH DATA AND ANALYTICS
- Designs analytics solutions to improve risk management in commodity purchasing, including the use of machine learning and AI models for predictive analytics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in developing best practices and operational methodologies.
- Strong functional knowledge in procurement roles.
- Understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis using SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience in sourcing, category management, preferably within the Food & Beverage industry.
- Comprehensive experience in sourcing processes and procurement methodologies across global organizations.
- Results-oriented with the ability to set and achieve ambitious targets.
