Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Technical Engineering role.
• Experience in communication and influence across different levels, including senior management within an organization, effectively translating technical details for the intended audience.
• Experience of producing detailed and clear technical reports, and present complex technical information, including those for a non-technical audience.
• Ability to think strategically, identify underlying issues, and persuade and influence individuals at all levels.
• Have a breadth and depth of experience of working in Major Hazards / High Consequence / COMAH environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect major hazard installations to ensure risks are managed and operators comply with the law.
• Assess Safety Reports from major hazard sites.
• Investigate safety-related incidents involving control systems.
• Produce technical inspection reports identifying risk gaps.
• Take enforcement actions to address significant risks.
• Provide expert opinion as investigator or witness at tribunals as needed.
• Advise colleagues on technical matters and standards.
