Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Safety Engineer near London to strengthen and maintain the safety integrity of complex petrochemical operations. You will lead PHAs, QRAs, and ensure robust SIS design and SIL verification to prevent incidents.

Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, stay current with IEC 61511 and other standards, and mentor staff. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of process safety engineering experience in petrochemical/oil & gas sectors.
• Deep knowledge of hazard analysis methods (HAZOP/LOPA) and risk assessment.
• Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) design and SIL verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA) for new and existing processes.
• Develop and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and elements.
• Perform QRAs and consequence modeling for risk reduction.
• Ensure SIS meets required SIL levels and supports safety objectives.
• Review designs and procedures for safety compliance.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Provide process safety training and maintain PSI data.
