Job summary

Cytiva, a Danaher Life Sciences company in the UK, seeks an experienced Process Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve Process Safety Management at a high-hazard membrane manufacturing site in Newquay and nearby facilities.

You will apply expert safety practices to projects, manage DSEAR/ATEX, COMAH and PSSR, coach teams and oversee CAPEX initiatives while expanding PSM capability across Cytiva sites.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of high-hazard manufacturing environments (chemical, process, pharmaceutical or regulated)
• Experience in Process Safety Management including HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA/ALARP, DSEAR/ATEX, COMAH and PSSR
• Ability to influence engineering, operations, maintenance and project teams to translate risk assessments into practical improvements
• Proactive, hands-on ownership of PSM activities, improvement plans and CAPEX projects
• Clear communicator with ability to coach and develop process safety capability across sites
• Degree-level qualification with chartership or progress towards chartership

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, development and continuous improvement of PSM across a high-hazard facility.
• Provide expert process safety input into projects, design reviews and operational improvements.
• Facilitate PSM studies (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA/ALARP) and ensure actions are owned and closed.
• Manage DSEAR/ATEX, COMAH and PSSR compliance and safety-critical equipment.
• Own and support PSM CAPEX projects and coach teams to build site capability.
• Support PSM improvements across Cytiva sites, with primary site focus at Newquay
