Job Details

About the Role

Supercritical seeks an experienced process engineering professional with safety expertise to join our Product team. You will help shape system design to meet safety, performance, and efficiency KPIs, focusing on reactor design and scale-up, supporting electrolytic testing, and fostering a safety-centric culture.

Responsibilities

1. Manage process safety lifecycle for test rigs and pilots.
2. Develop safety deliverables (e.g., safety basis, FMEA).
3. Support lab-scale testing and scale-up with the technology team.
4. Lead hazard identification workshops (HAZOP & HAZID).
5. Own engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, etc.).
6. Perform engineering calculations (PSV sizing, SIL validation, etc.).
7. Collaborate with partners to reach pilot scale by 2026.
8. Promote safety best practices, including Inherently Safer Design.
9. Guide zoning hazardous areas (ATEX/DSEAR) compliance.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are passionate about clean energy, proactive problem-solvers, with a master's in Chemical/Process Engineering, relevant safety experience, and familiarity with high-pressure systems and safety standards like ATEX. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of hydrogen electrolysis and industry standards.
• Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience with LOPA, dispersion modeling (PHAST, FLACS), and process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, Hysys).
