Job Description:

The Principal Safety and Environmental Engineer will join the team to provide support, including generating systems and product Safety and Environmental Case documentation, as well as through-life support products. Responsibilities include conducting safety analyses such as HAZOPs, FFA, FTA, FMECA, environmental assessments, generating safety requirements, presenting safety and environmental arguments, collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams, supporting audits, and producing reports.

Key Skills Required:

• Proven experience in Systems Safety within the UK Defence industry
• Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Safety Management
• Knowledge of international and defence safety standards (IEC 61508, Def Stan 00-056, Def Stan 00-051)
• Experience with safety and environmental assurance of COTS PE based systems or high integrity software
• Safety/reliability analysis techniques: hazard identification, FMECA, FTA, Functional Failure Analysis
• Risk assessment tools and ALARP justifications
• In-service support environment engineering knowledge (Desirable)
• Experience in maintenance and planning with Marine or Weapons engineering (Desirable)
• Strong interpersonal skills and high ethical standards

This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with offices in Weymouth, Loudwater, and Greenford. Travel within the UK is expected.
