Job summary

Amalgamated Metal Corporation PLC is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to establish and lead a new Engineering Department within our Stoke-on-Trent site. You will supervise a diverse team including Process & Production Engineer, Maintenance operator, and HPASA Engineer, guiding digitalisation of production and warehousing and driving process improvements.

The role requires a degree in engineering (preferably chemical), strong chemical knowledge, ATEX experience, and a track record in team

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
• Good chemical knowledge.
• Experience in a production environment preferred.
• Experience with ATEX procedures preferred.
• Experience in Team Leadership on plant or division level.
• Hands on mentality as it is a hands-on job.
• Creativity in finding engineering solutions.
• Computer literacy for Microsoft Office software.
• High awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and build an Engineering Department.
• Lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary team (Process & Production Engineer, Maintenance operator, HPASA Engineer).
• Digitalisation of the production and warehousing (Bar Code System).
• Process analysis and improvements for existing production lines.
• Introduction of new products into production scale in cooperation with R&D.
• Introduction of new technologies on plant scale.
• Finding engineering solutions for plant problems.
• Support and backup for the Site Manager.
• Supervision/optimizing plant maintenance including buildings and general site.
• Supervision/ optimization Site Security Systems (Cameras, lone worker system etc.).
• Further development of statistical tools to control process and quality.
• Interaction with equipment suppliers, organisation and evaluation of trials.
• Interaction and cooperation with QC, R&D, EH&S, Sales Departments.
• Cooperation with the EH&S department to keep high levels of safety.
