Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the Water sector team in Manchester with hybrid working. You will lead process design for wastewater projects within United Utilities’ framework, providing technical assurance and coaching junior engineers.

You will apply knowledge of water treatment processes, drive innovation for whole-life costs and net-zero goals, and collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

Qualifications

• Chemical Engineering or related Process Engineering degree.
• Experience and understanding of water and/or wastewater unit processes and treatment plant, with experience of delivering process design for wastewater projects.
• Experience of HAZOP studies as chair or team member would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead development of process design deliverables (models, mass balances, control philosophies).
• Provide technical assurance of process designs and ensure UU standards.
• Identify innovation opportunities to improve life-cycle cost and net-zero goals.
• Analyse site performance and develop mitigation to protect project delivery.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and allocate project resources.
• Challenge client specifications and defend complex process solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
