Job summary

ARCADIS is seeking experienced Principal/Senior Process Engineers for their UK Resilience Water team. This role focuses on design and engineering inputs for major UK Water Companies' frameworks and large-scale projects in treatment process engineering. You will be involved in client liaison, detailed design preparation, and mentoring less experienced staff.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, possesses chartered membership, and has strong technical design experience. An understanding of BIM-led design and British Standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or suitable alternative qualification.
• Chartered membership of an appropriate professional body (IChemE or CIWEM).
• Strong technical design experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Good working knowledge of Water Industry clients and contractors.
• Motivation, influencing, and people management skills.
• Knowledge and experience of BIM-led design and other digital tools.
• Understanding of applicable British Standards and water specifications.

Responsibilities

• Liaison with clients to understand specific requirements.
• Preparation of design drawings and construction-ready documentation.
• Input to feasibility-level design and optioneering assessments.
• Preparation of clear design calculations and reports.
• Liaison with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Mentoring less experienced staff.
