Job summary

Blackfield Associates is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to design and deliver manufacturing process facilities and clean utility systems for high-profile projects in the pharmaceutical sector.

You will own process engineering activities from concept through detailed design and construction support, leading complex projects while collaborating with clients, internal teams, and external partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of process engineering design experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in process design and operations within pharmaceutical, life sciences, or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, clean utilities, and facility design.
• Knowledge of cGMP and relevant industry regulations.
• Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards chartership.
• Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead the process engineering design of manufacturing facilities and supporting utility systems.
• Produce Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Material & Energy Balances, and P&ID drawings.
• Estimate utility requirements and design utility generation and distribution systems.
• Develop equipment specifications, datasheets, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Support facility expansion, improvement, and automation studies.
• Provide technical leadership and process engineering expertise throughout project lifecycles.
• Coordinate workloads and project delivery across international teams and external partners.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to successful project outcomes.
