Job summary

Kintec Global Recruitment seeks a Senior Process Engineer in Guilford to lead process design across conceptual, FEED and detailed phases, and to develop PFDs, P&IDs, control architectures and system models. You will drive safety and efficiency through rigorous analysis and modelling.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer with 5+ years of supervisory experience, with strong COMAH knowledge for natural gas and hydrogen, and a track record of mentoring across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with professional institution membership.
• 5+ years in supervisory or management role leading engineers and external contractors.
• Experience across conceptual, FEED, and detailed design in the energy sector.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas operations.
• Knowledge of COMAH safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process design work across conceptual, FEED and detailed design phases.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, control architectures, and system models.
• Support safe, efficient operation through process assessment and data analysis.
• Manage risk through HAZOP, HAZID, and wider safety studies.
• Ensure compliance with COMAH and regulatory requirements for natural gas and hydrogen.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer with member-level membership of a professional institution.
• At least 5 years in an engineering supervisory or management role, managing teams of engineers and external contractors.
• Multi-disciplinary experience on conceptual, FEED and detailed design projects in the energy industry.
• Strong understanding of the engineering behind oil and gas operations.
• System design experience, including PFDs, P&IDs, control architectures, and system modelling.
• Excellent understanding of COMAH and safety requirements for natural gas and hydrogen installations.
• Risk management experience, including HAZOP and HAZID.
• Proven track record of achieving deliverables and developing innovative solutions.
• Keen to build cross-discipline skills and train others.
• Degree in Chemical, Process, or equivalent Engineering preferred
