Job summary

IP-People is seeking a senior Solution Architect for its Sovereign Cloud practice in the UK. The role focuses on translating customer environments into secure, practical cloud solutions including private, sovereign, and hybrid models.

You will lead discovery workshops, design architectures, and create proposals while maintaining architectural ownership through delivery. Strong Linux, networking and security grounding is essential, with OpenStack/VMware experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Senior, customer-facing role with cloud and infrastructure architecture background.
• Translate customer environments into private, sovereign or hybrid cloud solutions.
• Experience with OpenStack or VMware; Kubernetes experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer discovery, technical workshops and requirements gathering.
• Design private, sovereign and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Assess existing infrastructure, applications/workloads, virtualization, storage, backup and DR requirements.
• Understand networking and security requirements to connect customers securely into private cloud environments.
• Work with Linux-based infrastructure and virtualization/private cloud platforms.
• Produce high-level and low-level solution designs.
• Create proposals, bids, tenders and statements of work.
• Balance technical requirements with customer budgets and commercial considerations.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams through implementation and migration.
• Retain architectural ownership through delivery.
