WSP is seeking a Senior or Principal Planner to join our Planning Consultancy team in Leeds. You will apply your knowledge of the UK planning system to advise on development proposals, negotiations with authorities, and plan promotion across private and public sectors.

You will lead planning appraisals, draft statements, and work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality guidance on complex schemes. Chartered status and a proactive, collaborative approach are highly valued.

Qualificações

• Degree level qualification in town planning.
• Chartered status (MRTPI / NIPA).
• Sound knowledge and experience of the UK planning system, gained in either a local authority or private sector setting.
• Strong technical skills.
• A commercial approach to planning consultancy and development.
• A desire to work in an established and growing planning team, surrounded by fellow professionals.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Devising planning strategies and assessing site history and policies.
• Preparing briefing notes on likelihood of planning permission.
• Drafting planning statements to support proposals.
• Leading planning aspects in multidisciplinary teams delivering projects.
• Attending site visits, design team and client meetings.
• Managing project delivery and budgetary control.
• Collaborating with colleagues from across WSP to ensure integrated advice.
• Monitoring planning applications and liaising with clients and teams.
