Job summary

Rolls-Royce seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to oversee verification and governance of automation products, ensuring alignment with business, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will translate high-level needs into validated automation designs, interface with stakeholders, and set architecture for cross-domain systems.

You will drive design of automation solutions, manage lifecycle activities, and contribute to documentation like FDS and CMD.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Chartered Engineer status preferred for senior ervaring
• 7+ years in electrical engineering and automation systems
• Experience across project lifecycle in complex programs
• Knowledge of naval/marine automation and control systems
• Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems

Responsibilities

• Review and agree high level automation requirements and their testability.
• Analyse and translate requirements into validated automation designs.
• Interface with external and internal customers to elicit stakeholder requirements.
• Design and implement automation designs meeting high-level requirements and standards.
• Allocate automation requirements to test vehicles in the verification plan.
• Create Enterprise Architecture solutions serving business and technical needs.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines and training.
• Produce FDS, CMD, Test Specifications and Operator/Maintenance Manuals.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to understand system components.
