Job summary

Simpson TWS in London seeks a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer to lead projects from concept to construction, with a focus on reinforced concrete design. You will guide the Structures group, ensure technical excellence, and drive client relationships while contributing to business development.

The role requires chartered status or progress towards it, strong leadership, and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams within a dynamic consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer with IStructE or ICE in progress or achieved.
• Experience leading project teams and managing technical delivery.
• Strong understanding of structural design, coordination, and project management.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting project financial performance.
• Confident communicator, capable of managing client and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience mentoring engineers and technicians.
• Interest in contributing to business development and growing client relationships.
• Collaborative approach across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to construction.
• Ensure excellence in technical delivery and programme management.
• Support leadership of the Structures group and resource efficiency.
• Maintain high technical standards and deliver projects profitably and on schedule.
• Design to British Standards or Eurocodes; BS8110 knowledge beneficial.
• Build and strengthen client relationships; contribute to proposals and bids.
• Mentor and develop junior staff; support BD activities.
