Job summary

Moog UK is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of software for flight control and actuation systems. This role emphasizes safety-critical, real-time embedded software and aerospace compliance.

You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with hardware and systems teams to ensure rigorous verification and certification in line with DO-178C.

Qualifications

• 15 years in software engineering with aerospace or safety-critical focus.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded flight-control software.
• Experience with deterministic, fault-tolerant flight control systems.
• Strong knowledge of DO-178C and aerospace certification standards.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/CE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Define software architecture and technical strategy for flight control and actuation systems.
• Develop real-time embedded software for actuation systems and flight control computers.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers for integration.
• Ensure DO-178C compliance throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and drive verification/validation processes for safety-critical software.
• Lead quality assurance for mission-critical software.
