Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for a permanent, remote role in the UK. You will contribute 80% hands-on engineering and 20% planning, driving AI workflows, reliability, and scalable enterprise solutions across .NET, SQL Server, Azure, and related tooling.

You will mentor colleagues, champion testing-first delivery, and own end-to-end modules with production support. Candidates should have deep .NET/SQL Server experience and be eligible for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering with .NET and SQL Server.
• Scripting in PowerShell and Bash for build, deployment, and ops.
• Proven CI/CD and release management with Jira practices.
• Strong ownership mindset; proactive communication and organization.
• Ability to mentor others and raise technical standards.
• Experience with customer technical teams in regulated settings.
• Security clearance eligibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain complex enterprise systems spanning monoliths and modules.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Azure DevOps).
• Lead release management with disciplined tagging/versioning.
• Integrate third-party components and external packages.
• Promote best practices and introduce improvements where justified.
