Job summary

Arthian Ltd. is seeking a motivated Lead Process Engineer to drive efficient and compliant project design across diverse sectors in the UK.

You will operate within a multidisciplinary team, delivering complex process design deliverables and mentoring junior colleagues to uphold quality standards. You will perform process calculations, develop PFDs and P&IDs, and review supplier quotations, ensuring timely completion within budget while complying with client requirements and legislation.

Qualifications

• Honours or Masters degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
• Full UK driving licence with clean record.
• Chartered status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead Process Engineer to ensure design projects are efficient, safe and compliant.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver complex design projects.
• Prepare process design deliverables to required standards, on time and within budget.
• Carry out process calculations and modelling.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs and process descriptions.
• Mentor and support less experienced colleagues.
• Review design work by others and approve it.
• Obtain and review supplier quotations and manage competitive tendering.
• Lead complex design projects within high-hazard industries technically and administratively.
• Manage project delivery with effective coordination and oversight.
• Apply expertise across sectors including food & drink, chemical and pharmaceutical.

About You

• Acting as lead Process Engineer to ensure the design of projects in an efficient, safe and compliant manner
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of complex design projects
• Helping prepare process design deliverables to the required standard, within budget and on time
• Undertaking process calculations and process modelling
• Developing PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications and process descriptions
• Mentoring and support for less experienced colleagues
• Reviewing and approving design work undertaken by others
• Obtaining and reviewing supplier quotations, management of competitive tendering processes
• Ensuring the use of suitable design methods, standards and data as required by legislation and/or client requirements
• Business development, proposal preparation and budgeting
• Lead complex design projects within high-hazard industries, both technically and administratively
• Manage project delivery, ensuring effective coordination and oversight
• Apply expertise across a broad range of sectors, including food and drink, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries
• Support a diverse client base with varying project requirements
• Bring experience from multiple industries to enhance project outcomes and consultancy services
• Experience within the distilling sector desirable and viewed favourably

Qualifications

• Hold an Honours or Masters degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline
• Possess a full UK driving licence with a clean driving record
• Professional chartership(s) desirable and viewed favourably
