Airswift is seeking a Senior Principal Planner to join a London-based oil and gas EPCIC project team. The role focuses on planning/scheduling expertise across complex subsea and offshore programs, including development of level 3/4 schedules and proactive recovery actions.

Candidates should have 15+ years in EPCIC with subsea/ offshore projects and strong proficiency in Primavera P6, Deltek Fuse, MS Project and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction or project management.
  • 15+ years EPCIC experience with subsea/offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Experience with subsea fabrication and PLEM/PLET modules preferred.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Senior Principal Planner

Work Location: Chiswick, London

Start date: September

Duration of Contract: 12 months renewable contract

The Senior Principal Planner is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Planner is considered a specialist in the field of Planning/Scheduling, and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Project Controls function. They impact the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and work within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Planner role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Planning/Scheduling challenges.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Perform schedule analysis using Project Management software's including Primavera P6, Deltek Fuse & Risk, and Microsoft Project.
  • Support project baseline creation during the project initiation and setup phase.
  • Facilitate detailed multi-discipline scope reviews.
  • Perform detailed schedule quality and integrity checks using Deltek Fuse.
  • Update and validate physical progress reported from EVMS systems.
  • Provide project schedule support and mentor junior planners as required.
  • Develop and maintain logically linked level 3 and level 4 activity schedules, for marine scope installation projects in the Oil and Gas Industry (pipelines, subsea, platforms, HDD), according to precedence flow planning, using best practices.
  • Produce workforce histograms and progress and quantity curves in connection with the schedules.
  • Maintain and review the sequence of Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Installation, Hook-Up, and Commissioning, and other operations for control of critical path and overall project durations.
  • Elevate and expedite operations that are delaying the schedule and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Create and Monitor schedule compliance, key performance, factors, and provide analysis of variations to baseline data.
  • Identify current and potential factors that may delay the schedule.
  • Assess actions for recovery and improvement and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Lead and deliver initiatives.
  • Create and run a prepared or ad-hoc report.
  • Evaluate the validity of the critical path based on prior experience.
  • Resource load the schedule and match it to an earned value system.
  • Suggest recovery plans or areas of potential improvement.
  • Have a strong understanding of typical project logic and flow.
  • Run Acumen Fuse to analyze schedule quality.
  • Run schedule risk analysis and facilitate risk review meeting.
  • Set up overall schedule parameters (WBS/OBS/Project/Global Codes /Calendar).
Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management/Engineering/Construction/Business Management or equivalent combinations of technical training or experience required.
  • 15+ years of EPCIC experience with Subsea / Offshore Oil and Gas projects.
  • Experience in the fabrication of subsea modules e.g PLEM/PLET etc.
  • Have solid command of Primavera P6 Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to use advanced features in Excel (curves, histograms, dynamic tables, formulas, etc.).
  • Able to produce and maintain logically linked activity schedules, according to precedence flow in EPCIC planning, using best practices.
  • Able to produce and assess progress curves, histograms, variance reports, and critical paths.
  • Able to analyze project status and performance, deviations, performance factors, forecasts, and workarounds.
  • Must be able to produce multidisciplinary logically linked activity schedules, according to precedence flow in planning, using best industry practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
