Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of nationally significant water projects in the North West, based in Manchester or Warrington.

You will provide technical leadership across full project lifecycles, set quality standards and mentor regional engineers within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. Join us to drive innovation, shape project delivery with clients, and build long-term capability across the Water

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) status.
Significant UK water sector experience.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects.
Experience producing and reviewing technical specifications and calculations.
Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
Experience mentoring engineers and developing talent.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design across major water infrastructure projects.
Provide technical governance and quality assurance across project teams.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients and support key strategic decisions.
Lead multidisciplinary design reviews and collaborate with PMs, contractors and supply chain partners.
Provide line management, mentoring and technical development for engineers across the region.
Support business growth through client engagement, framework development and technical innovation.
