Job summary

Assystem UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Fusion and Modular Nuclear (FMN) unit. You will lead design development for cutting‑edge fusion projects, ensuring safe, compliant delivery on time and budget.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage interfaces with suppliers and stakeholders, and prepare technical specifications for cooling water systems and related reactor components. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• CEng Chartered Engineer with eligibility for UK security clearance.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on nuclear projects.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and safety requirements in nuclear design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development for fusion and modular nuclear projects.
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Prepare technical specifications for cooling water and reactor components.
• Ensure delivery to time, budget and applicable standards.
