Job summary

Assystem is seeking experienced Principal and Senior Principal Civil Engineers to join our Fusion and Modular Nuclear team in the UK and internationally. You will shape the future of nuclear infrastructure, delivering design solutions across concept to commissioning within multidisciplinary teams.

You will provide technical leadership, champions for safety, and drive value through innovative, off‑site manufacturing and MMC strategies while collaborating with regulators, clients and delivery

Qualifications

• Significant post‑qualification experience on nuclear new build, SMR/AMR or large regulated programmes.
• Experience leading civil/structural activities from concept to commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and international design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design for nuclear safety-related and conventional civil structures.
• Oversee technical deliverables, including calculations and drawings, per QA requirements.
• Act as Technical Authority or SME and provide independent review when needed.
• Ensure compliance with UK/international codes, safety principles and environmental health & safety.
