Job summary

Assystem invites applications for a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer within the Fusion and Modular Nuclear (FMN) unit. You will lead design developments across cooling water systems, manage interfaces with suppliers and internal teams, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Expertise in cooling water systems design and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of ONR, Environment Agency and HSE regulations.
• Experience with DFMEA/HAZID in complex nuclear projects.
• Ability to manage interfaces between engineering teams, suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support development of designs for cooling water and related systems.
• Perform DFMEA to mitigate potential failure modes early in design.
• Conduct HAZID to assess project risks.
• Create and maintain technical specifications for procurement and installation.
• Coordinate interfaces across engineering, project and supplier teams.
